St. Michael’s Youth Group
We have a monthly newsletter "St. Michael's Messenger" that is sent to all the high school youth of the parish. We do parish activities, as well as Hearthstone and Diocesan events. Call Youth Coordinator Mary Siefker 419-532-3494, ext. 103.

Altar Rosary Sodality
Meetings are held on the 1st Monday of the month at 7:30 P.M. in the church basement (October – May).  Members are all ladies of the parish (upon graduation of high school).  At the meetings, we try to have a speaker, demonstration or social hour. We run the concession stand at all high school boys and girls basketball games. When a member passes away, we pray the rosary at the funeral home and also before the Mass.  The current president of the Rosary Altar is Mary Lou Merschman.

C L of C (Catholic Ladies of Columbia)
Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the Month (September – May) at 7:30 P.M. in the church basement.  We have a booth at Pioneer Days in Kalida. We are the women’s branch of the K of C.  The current president of the CL of C is Elaine Trentman.

Holy Name Society
Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of every month at 8:00 P.M. in the church basement.  All men of St. Michael’s, upon graduation of high school, are members of the Society.  We maintain all 3 baseball diamonds, including bleachers, benches, chalk-line, fence, lime, fertilizer, equipment (bases, balls, helmets, bats, catcher equipment, league fees, umpire fees, etc.) We sponsor: Boys and Girls CYO basketball teams, and all girls and boys Little League baseball teams from Pony League down.  We donate money to the church and other organizations.  The current president of the Holy Name is Doug Bockrath.

Knights of Columbus 5669 (K of C)
Meetings are held second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 8:00 P.M. at the Kalida K of C Hall. We hold our famous fish fries on every Friday of Lent from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Phone 419-532-3669.

Choirs
Holy Name (Men’s) Choir – We practice on certain Mondays, usually around 8:30 P.M.  We sing at various Masses during the year.

Young Adult (Mixed) Choir – We practice on Wednesdays at 8:30 P.M. (Sept. – May) in the choir loft. We sing at various Masses during the year and at certain weddings. We sing the Christmas Midnight Mass.

High School Choir – open to all high school boys and girls. Practice is usually on Wednesdays at 8:00 P.M. during the school year in the choir loft.

Young People Choir – open to 4th – 8th grade. Practice times vary.

Praise Group - open to anyone in the parish.  Call Joe & Laura Warnement at 419-532-3176 for more information. 

Funeral Choir - anyone is welcome to join this choir.  Call Jan Kahle at 419-532-3474, ext. 102 to be put on the list.  No practices.

To join any of these choirs, either call the director or simply show up at practice.

Parish Council
Current members are: Cindy Erhart, Mary Grote, Dave Hovest, Dale Liebrecht, Ken Kahle, Denny Schnipke, John Smith, Blyth Turnwald, Greg von der Embse
The Parish Council usually meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 8:15 P.M. at the Parish Center.  A member's term is three years. 
Elections are held in May (3 new people are elected).

Finance Committee
Committee members are: Eileen Decker, Dennis Bruskotter, Joan Niese, Jim Burgei, Paul Bonifas, Norm Schnipke, Greg Zeller. They meet as needed during the year.

Maintenance Committee
Members:  Kevin Fischer, Bob Buss, Kevin Bellman, Gary Vorst, Keith Meyer, Chris Kehres & Mel Hanneman

Tithing Committee
St. Michael's tithes 10% of the last week of the month's collection.  This group decides, with parishioner input, which charitable organization or individual will be the recipient of each month's tithe.  Contact any member of the group with your suggestions for possible tithe recipients.  Tithing Committee Members:  Dan Fanger, Ruth Foppe, and Norman von der Embse. 

Helping Hands
This program was designed to help parishioners in the following areas:  Funeral / Bereavement Assistance, Delivered Meals, Meals for New Parents, Phone Calls / Visits, Nursing Home Visitation, Helping with Errands & Appointments, House & Yard Work, Babysitting, Car Maintenance and more!  Contact Jill Zeller (419-532-2511) or Kathy Recker (419-642-5221) for more information or if you, or someone you know, is in need of assistance.

Bereavement Group
This group helps those in the parish after the death of a loved one. Call Bonnie Knueve 419-532-2052 or Mille McElwain 419-532-3126 to be a part of this group or for more information.

Welcoming Committee
This group visits those who are new to the parish. Call the Parish Center 419-532-3474 for more information.

Familia
Familia provides an opportunity for parents to share Scripture and Vatican Encyclicals to better understand the teachings of the Church and provides practical ways to raise a Catholic Family. Call Dale & Julie Siebeneck at 419-532-2572 for more information.

Prayer Chain Group
This group consists of approximately 100 people who pray for those in need. When someone calls, we immediately pass the request to the other volunteers. Call Dolores Bockrath 532-3548 to be put on the list.

FOCCUS Team
This team consists of married couples from the parish who meet with engaged couples one on one before marriage. The goal of this team is to encourage discussion about marriage between the engaged couple.

Pre-Cana Team
Pre-Cana is the Engaged Couples Conference required by the Diocese of Toledo. It is held on the first Sunday of March and the first Sunday of October. It provides the engaged couple with a chance to consider the various aspects of married life: finance, prayer and faith, parenthood, etc. The day runs from 8:00 A.M. – approximately 2:30 P.M.
